This is a brief case update. For the US, California, and San Diego County, new cases have reached a persistent level. While cases are not going down in these regions, I will point out that last year at this time, we were beginning a big Fall/Winter wave. As of right now, we are not seeing cases rise, but stay steady. So in spite of stable cases, we are not seeing a new Fall wave either. I take this as good news overall.

The Delta wave is over in some states like Alabama and Hawaii, while still going strong in others like Vermont and Minnesota.

The summer wave in the US seems to be due to rural outbreaks of Delta, whereas urban areas already had immunity.
